Althorp is a jewel set in lovely rural
Northamptonshire. the house may appear grey and unwelcoming from
afar but how different the reality. It has been home to successive
generations of the Spencer family for over 500 years and is filled
with warmth, colour, beautiful antiques and the feeling of a truly
lived in home. Nineteen rooms are open to the public.
The house lies within a beautiful estate,
famed for its shinning collection of trees. It has been welcoming
visitors for 51 years but it is only since the royal links and
tragic death of the Earl's sister Diana, HRH The Princess of Wales,
that Althorp has become an international focus.
The magnificent stable block has been
converted to house the award winning exhibition of her life and
work.
Althorp's staff have extremely high standards
of care and welcome and you will be assured of a truly memorable
visit. The profits from the exhibition all go to the Diana Princess
of Wales Memorial Fund.
Althorp is open from July to September, to
